"Just Change the Name"

That's a common government “get-around” of the law. If the law prohibits something they want to do (like gun owner databases). Just call it something else. But to me, if it “walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck.” Gun owners have long feared a new database of gun owners, but it already exists. It's called a “data warehouse.” Not a database, get it? So they're not violating the “Firearms Owners Protection Act” because it's not a database. It's a data warehouse. Get it? But to me, if it looks like a database, and OPERATES like a database, it's a database, no matter what they call it to “get around.” the law. They have lots of such scams in the government. You just have to learn how to recognize them. Mostly, they're used when the public “tumbles” to what they're doing, so they change it's name to fool us. In this case however, they used a different name from the beginning because they KNEW they were violating the law and wanted “believable deniability.” Deniability is important to them. You both know they're lying, but they'll never admit it. They'll even go to court and lie under oath. (Truth About Guns)
