Contradiction In Terms

“Unarmed policeman.” An unarmed policeman is useless, and is deadly danger himself with his distinctive uniform and his distinctive vehicle. That was proved again in Great Britain when a couple of unarmed cops tried to pull over a car and ran into a man with a machete. One cop was seriously injured, and is in critical condition. Fortunately, he did have a stun gun, which allowed him to subdue the knife-wielding man. But this whole incident proves the damned foolishness of those in this country who are demanding that cops be disarmed. Any city, county, or state that “knuckles under” to these demands and disarms its cops should see their entire police force resign immediately. And nobody should “hire on” under such conditions. Any policeman who tries to do his/her job without a gun is stupid. A recent situation where some cops went to execute a warrant and met gunfire with one of them being killed proves it, again. You can’t ask somebody to do such a dangerous job without having the means to defend themselves. I just can’t understand the thinking of those who would even think about disarming cops.
