Liberals are “concerned” that lowering the age of those in the
military who could have guns after separation would increase the military suicide rate. Why, that's jist
turribl! Seems to me if they're in the military, whose business is to
kill people and break things. They SHOULD be allowed to carry guns in
order to accomplish that. Of course, in their jobs in the military,
they CAN carry and use a gun. But when they come home to Colorado,
they can't get one unless they are 21! Do they really think somebody
contemplating killing
themselves
will care about breaking a law against buying a gun? This antiquated
requirement completely ignores the fact that they are highly trained
to use guns, and are dependable in their use. A Greely politician is
trying to change that, sponsoring legislation to lower that age for
underage members of the military, or those honorably discharged from
same. I doubt the bill will go far in the Democrat-dominated Colorado
legislature, but it's a step in the right direction. (Greely Tribune)
